Feast Day Celebration & CMG Annual Conference/Lecture – June 2019
The Patron feast day celebration by the CMG, is usually characterized by a number of activities.
These include:
(a) Members’ celebration of Mass with the children on a Sunday during the period.
(b) A one day retreat for members of the Guild, usually moderated by a chosen Priest.
(c) Feast of bread and honey by members, to reenact the life style of St. John the Baptist, who ate locusts and wild honey in the wilderness.
(d) The climax is the induction of very carefully selected new members, followed by a lecture and a luncheon.
This year, we have added two events to the celebration:
A charity visit to an Old Peoples’ Home in Lagos; and the recognition of some of the founding members of the CMG, who are now octogenarians, and have remained active and faithful to the Catholic faith, their marriage vows, and the aims and objectives of the Guild.
